    Roseville, CA, October 2008 – Central Valley Broadband, LLC.,

    Leading Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) in Placer County acquires the Ascendance wireless network in Auburn, Colfax based Foothill Wireless and the Coastal Web Online Wireless Internet Service in Eldorado County and becomes the largest rural wireless broadband company in the area.

    Central Valley Broadband a provider of wireless broadband services primarily to residential and business subscribers in secondary and rural market’s, has completed and secured financing for acquisitions. The company is using the proceeds to further its growth strategy and is rapidly increasing its subscriber base through acquisitions and organic growth.

    "CVB has established a leadership position in serving rural markets with wireless broadband services," stated William Lawver, chief executive officer of Central Valley Broadband. "As these communities are often ignored by incumbent providers, CVB intends to ensure that broadband services are not only available but also affordable.

    Wireless broadband is the most cost-effective means of providing high speed Internet access, which is a necessity in this age when more and more people are working from home, starting small businesses and school kids at home.

    We have been executing on our growth strategy that combines acquisitions of wireless broadband companies with the organic growth of our subscriber base. With the acquisition of the Ascendance wireless subscriber base, Foothill Wireless, and Coastal Web Online’s wireless broadband network subscriber base, we have completed four acquisitions already. The first acquisition was Rocklin based Infostations.

    With these acquisitions, CVB has the scale to continue our rapid customer growth. At the same time, we expect to continue to pursue more acquisitions that are immediately accretive to earnings. Acquisitions make good sense for us,” says William Lawver.

    Central Valley Broadband Company Background

    After starting one of the first and very successful ISP’s (1994) providing dialup to residential and business clients in the Sacramento area and around the US, QuikNet Inc. was acquired by SureWest Communications (SURW) in 2001.

    Already during QuikNet’s time the company provided as one of first local ISP’s wireless broadband internet access to local communities in Placer County. The reassembled team has years of experience in engineering, system management, business management and customer service.

    The CVB team not only faced the standard challenges of opening a new business, but the daunting tasks of setting up an operation with expensive complex equipment. Despite the odds in these difficult times, the team has spun a web of success again and is now in a short time, the largest provider of wireless broadband in Placer County and surrounding areas.

    CVB CEO William Lawver, former CEO of QuikNet, Inc., was named “Entrepreneur of the Year” by the Roseville Chamber of Commerce in 1996. The Entrepreneur Award recognizes those who have demonstrated the entrepreneurial spirit by successfully opening and operating new businesses.
