    CVB is currently looking for a:

    In House and Field Technical Support  - Wireless Broadband/Computer Problem Solver

    Your Qualities as a Technical Support Person  - if you see that the customer has trouble following your instructions in a timely manner and you cannot log-in remotely to help solve the problem, you need to schedule a time to help the person onsite.

    • Great troubleshooting over the phone or onsite problem solving skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Pleasant and helpful in communicating with customers
    • Able to communicate with customers and assist our customers quickly and efficiently in a timely manner
    • Respond to support calls by phone and e-mail
    • Be able to diagnose, trouble shoot and solve customer problems
    • Schedule customer problems for quick response by our trouble shooters or you
    • Keep company managers informed about problems that are reported
       

    Some of the Skills you might have:

    • Broadband Wireless Installations knowledge
    • Customer Computer configuration knowledge
    • Climbing ladders and roofs
    • Working with Power Tools and Equipment
    • Driving to Customer Location
    • Fluent knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems and Macintosh operating systems
    • Experience with standard Internet configurations and protocols including: TCP/IP, DHCP, LAN
    • Connections for Broadband Internet, SMTP and POP3 e-mail configurations, FTP, DNS
    • Experience with web browser and e-mail program troubleshooting and configuration
    • Ability to handle escalated troubleshooting cases & provide resolution is a Plus
       

    Experience :

    We are looking for person with a prior background in customer support role in a technical field, like working for an Internet Service Provider. Requirements include having a caring attitude towards customer needs and expectations, positive mental attitude, a willingness to learn our systems and express positive ways to improve our systems.

    Compensation:

    Pay depending on experience. Full time, part-time, working from home opportunities are available. Need your own car!

    Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Must have excellent driving record.

    Central Valley Broadband is looking for a Wireless Broadband Installer/ Technician. The person we are looking for will be computer literate, have satellite and cable roof mount experience and should be a SELF STARTER.

    · Daily responsibilities will include

    • Broadband Wireless Installations
    • Customer Computer configuration
    • Climbing ladders and roofs
    • Working with Power Tools and Equipment
    • Driving to Customer Location
    • Speak with customers on the phone and in person to provide Broadband Installation Services
    • Other responsibilities to be determined

      Full Time - Network Administrator
      Location:  Roseville, CA
      Status: Employee – Experienced, Non Managerial
      Experience 2-5 years

      About the Position - FILLED - Welcome Christian

      Central Valley Broadband, a wireless Broadband Internet access provider is looking for a Network Administrator.  The Network Administrator is responsible for day-to-day administration of CVB’s wireless network, delivering Internet service to residential and business users in rural areas of Placer, El Dorado and Nevada counties. This position reports responsibilities to the Network Manager.

      The Network Administrator is responsible for major portions of systems support (i.e. routers, servers, email) and assists Sr. Network Administrator with the overall performance and availability of the network (7x24). Provides support for servers and all related network infrastructure. Resolves operational problems or issues under general guidance of the Senior Administrator.

      Job Duties Include:

      • Troubleshooting when issues arise
      • Daily reporting on system status
      • New service provisioning
      • Configuration, deployment, monitoring and maintenance of all network related devices.
      • Other duties as assigned


      Skills required:

      • Basic network design
      • Network administration, functionality, security, compliance and maintenance
      • E-mail administration and maintenance 
      • Hardware support and maintenance (i.e. upgrades, patches
      • Various Routing protocols including OSPF
      • Mikrotik RouterOS, Linux
      • Motorola Canopy
      • Wireless backhaul configuration
      • Second/Third level’ of support for IT helpdesk.
      • Familiarity with SNMP, TCP/IP, OSI Model

      Four year degree in computer science or equivalent work experience in an IT environment. 3 years related professional IT experience. Must have knowledge of networking, systems installation and maintenance. Must possess communication skills to exchange information and resolve problems with clients/users/vendors.
